Mid-Century Modern Wall Hangings
Just recently, I blogged how awesome Etsy is for affordable art. Another alternative to jazzing up some blank space is to create a fabric wall hanging. Textile Arts is a wonderful shop that offers the groovy designs of Marimekko and other mid-century modern designers.
I've ordered some in the past, and lemme tell you ... they are super easy to put together. You will need a staple gun (see Nest Essentials) and a little bit of muscle to assemble them for yourself! They range from $65 to $130. Totally worth it since they are quite large (mostly over 42" wide).
Here are some other great patterns:

What a cool idea! I love the last one, really soothing.
Super fun!
Celee,
Great post! I love the idea of do it yourself art kits. I went ahead an ordered the black and white Kivet Kit. For my office. We'll see how it goes. I am excited about the size and know just where to put it if I can put it together.
Cool I know that you'll really love it! It takes some time to pull together (~ 1 1/2 hours) with all the stapling...but will be really rewarding! :)
Could you recommend a really good stapler? I can get one tomorrow at Lowes.
I actually bought the arrow stapler. I've included a link to it on the left hand navigation under "Nest Essentials". Lowes or Home Depot should have a good selection as well! good luck!
I bought the Aarow staple gun and the textile arts box came today! It looks fabulous. I hope you read my post. This has been an excellent design suggestion! Thanks, CeLee!
